Type Ⅱ Collagen

Overview:
Type II collagen (CII) is fibrillar collagen located mainly in cartilage tissue. The main molecular form of collagen in cartilage is type II collagen.
Type II collagen also exists in the intervertebral disc of the vitreous humor, inner ear, nose and spine of the eye.  Degradation of type II collagen is an early indicator of osteoarthritis.
